Arnolfini

Director Eyal Sivan, Belgium, Germany, France, Israel 86 mins, 2009

Presented by Dr Ghada Karmi – a leading Palestinian activist, writer and academic.

Visually captivating and politically bold, this enticing new film by acclaimed filmmaker Eyal Sivan weaves a rich tapestry of stunning archival material and striking interviews to explore the entwined visual and political history of the Jaffa Orange: both a symbol of the Zionist enterprise and the state of Israel, and for Palestinians a powerful symbol of the loss and destruction of their homeland. The film ultimately asks what the Jaffa’s past might tell us about the future in Palestine/Israel.

Join us before the evening’s screening with a tasting session facilitated by Zaytoun, a community interest company founded to develop a UK market for artisan Palestinian produce http://www.zaytoun.org/
