Busking to Gaza
The Boscastle Busker, John Maughan, has been singing in Boscastle’s three pubs, The Cobweb, The Wellington and The Napoleon, for over thirty years. With his mellow baritone voice and a huge repertoire of songs, he is the catalyst that galvanises a roomful of people to sing for sheer pleasure. On a more sombre note John will share with us how his singing took him onboard cargo ship carrying 55 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He will reflect on his shamefully sketchy knowledge of the history of the area, and the lasting impressions of his trip.
