Palestine Comedy Club
This feature-length documentary follows six Palestinian stand-up comedians as they cross borders and military checkpoints, as well as cultural fault-lines, to bring comedy to packed audiences in Palestine—and later to stages abroad. Along the way, they navigate the personal and political tensions of telling jokes in a time of war and displacement, and reflect on what it means to make people laugh when laughter itself becomes a form of resistance.
This screening will be followed by a comedy set by Alaa Shehada, one of the comedians featured in the film.
All donations from this year’s festival will go to Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), providing humanitarian assistance as well as health and social services to Palestinians whenever and wherever needed. You can donate when buying tickets.
