Gaza Sound Man
Sound engineer Mohamed Yaghi tirelessly records sounds across the Gaza Strip, guiding an auditory journey through four stories that powerfully bring home the war’s impact since October 7th. Through their voices and experiences, we witness how the sounds of this devastated region have been transformed. A fascinating and original perspective on how humanity endures horror and maintains hope against the odds.
Vibrations from Gaza
Vibrations from Gaza offers a glimpse into the experiences of deaf children in Gaza. Born and raised under siege and frequent onslaughts, these children provide vivid accounts of their encounter of bombardment and the constant presence of drones in their sky. The film also questions whether the deafness of these children is natural or a consequence of Israel’s use of sonic weaponry, such as sonic booms.
It’s Bisan from Gaza and I’m Still Alive
Bisan Owda—a young journalist, activist and filmmaker—documents life in Gaza after October 7th. Through her frequent videos and livestreams she chronicles her family’s flight from Beit Hanoun to Al-Shifa Hospital, where she continues to report from a makeshift tent outside the medical centre, capturing survival, grief and attacks—including strikes on a nearby ambulance. Owda’s resilience and her storytelling style have captured international attention: her work has been widely covered by international media and she received an Emmy Award in 2024 for her coverage of Israel’s war on Gaza.
