Yalla Parkour
Nostalgia for her homeland overwhelms filmmaker Areeb Zuaiter when she discovers a video of young men practicing parkour on Gaza’s sandy shores, their joy starkly contrasted with the distant echoes of explosions. Areeb forms a bond with Ahmed, one of the parkour athletes. As their relationship deepens, Ahmed reveals the harsh realities of life in Gaza, and Areeb grapples with feelings of guilt and conflict as she witnesses Ahmedʼs desire to escape the confines of his homeland. Their journey becomes not only a quest to reclaim memories but also an exploration of identity, belonging, and the haunting legacy of a home left behind.
All donations from this year’s festival will go to Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), providing humanitarian assistance as well as health and social services to Palestinians whenever and wherever needed. You can donate when buying tickets.
